Kavala, 5 December 2017
No. Rev. 44/2017
The Board of Directors of the Institute of Social
Movements and Tobacco History watches and follows with obvious
concern and anxiety the capture of OSMAN KAVALA, which took place
on 19 October 2017 at ATATURK International Airport and its
continued detention.
OSMAN KAVALA is a founding member of our
Institute and Honorary Citizen of Kavala. He is also President of
the Anadolu Kultur Center, which joined the Municipality of Kavala
on the Tobacco Roads Network.

organizations and he is fighting for human rights.
For many years OSMAN KAVALA, originating from
Kavala, has helped to bring our city together with several cities
in Turkey for the benefit of both sides
The Board of Directors unanimously declares its
full sympathy to OSMAN KAVALA and wants to believe that he will
have a fair and impartial trial, in accordance with International
Conventions, the European Convention of Human Rights and the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
